We love Thora, she is a really good tour guide as well as a good driver !!! She told us everything she knows, answer all our questions, and very kind to drop us off to the supermarket ( so we no need to walk there for 15 mins)! Thank you very much! And the boy who guide us in the ice cave is really professional, you can see he treats the ice cave as treasure, he guide us carefully to protect the art works of Mother Nature. We love the trip, love the people in Iceland , they are nice, friendly and passionated!

I booked this service for my parents who were traveling to Iceland, they easily found the driver and he dropped them to the right location. It was so stress-free for me sitting here in NY.

Pick up at the stop on time, good point. The tour includes a good and varied set of attractions to see near the capital. Friendly guide. I would recommend adding an audio guide in Spanish for this tour.

Very nice experience! Our guide Noi was literally THE BEST person, soooo enthusiastic and fun. Loved his Nordic tips and stories. The driver, Arthur, was incredible and kept us safe in the Icelandic winter roads. We sang traditional Nordic chants and saw the northern lights in all stops. At the end we received some warm cocoa and Noi showed us planets and constellations. The golden circle tour was so beautiful! Loved the Gullfoss waterfall and in the end we stopped in a horse farm for an unplanned meet and greet - super cute! The only thing is that we had a few problems with the bus stop system (our ticket showns bus stop 6 and to be there 30' earlier, which we did but the pick up never happened. We called the main office and they were very quick in reallocate our tour). Also it would be nice if we could have bit more stop time in some attractions, as the snow made us move slower, I understand that the weather in Iceland changes in a blink of an eye but it would be nicer to have bit more time on the park etc . But overall, very nice experience, would deffo recommend it!

  • Crowd tips: Small-group format avoids city-tour crowds, but earlier departures can offer quieter roads.
  • Seasonality caveat: Tours only operate during aurora season; winter weather may occasionally delay departures.
  • By pickup: Hotel pickup included for central Reykjavik; transfers via heated Super Jeep.
  • By car: Drive time is approximately 10–20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik; parking is limited near departure points.

  • Warm, layered clothing, waterproof jackets, and insulated boots.
  • Hat, gloves, and scarves for Arctic nights.
  • Camera or smartphone with tripod; bring extra batteries (cold drains power fast).
  • Optional: thermos with hot drinks provided by the tour.
  • Heated Super Jeeps with comfortable seating.
  • Small groups (6–8 guests) for personal attention and flexible stops.
  • Hot drinks included; blankets provided for extra warmth.

  • Sightings of the Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed due to weather and solar activity.
  • Tour may be rescheduled or rebooked free of charge if aurora conditions are poor.
  • Respect local environment: no littering or damaging terrain in remote areas.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early at your pickup point to ensure smooth boarding.
  • Keep cameras ready; aurora displays can be unpredictable.
  • Drink plenty of water and dress in layers to stay comfortable in cold temperatures.
  • Combine your evening tour with daytime Reykjavik sightseeing for a full experience.

How to make the most of your Reykjavik Northern Lights Super Jeep tour

To get the best experience, book your Super Jeep tour at least a few days in advance, especially during peak aurora season (Nov–Mar). Dress in warm, layered clothing and waterproof boots, and bring a camera with extra batteries for long exposures. Tours last about 3–5 hours, so plan your evening accordingly. Small groups make for flexible stops and better photo opportunities. Let your guide know if you have specific spots in mind.
